Howard Shore and Captain Alatriste

BSOSpirit information sources has been confirmed that "Alatriste" production crew has broken the negociations with Ennio Morricone about to score this spanish production film, starring by Viggo Mortensen, based on Arturo Pérez-Reverte international best-seller novels.

After this, we can confirm that actually, film production is in negociations to hire Howard Shore to score the film. When the conversations with Morricone broke, Viggo Mortensen (composer's friend) has suggested Shore's name.

The production has confirmed that the canadian composer is reading the original novels and composing music demos that he will show to the producers middle next month.

The election of an american composer (canadian in fact), has a direct relation with the fact that film post production will do in USA and not in Spain. The implication of Howard Shore in the project, join to Viggo Mortensen, will be the lure that production look for, to sold the movie in the american cinema market.
